Ed has a great DJ website where you can add all the songs you like, as well as which songs you don’t want to hear (which is very important for me). He then creates amazing mixes with the songs and knows how to keep the party going. I was really happy he was able to find our first dance song, which is from the 1940s and not easy to stream from just anywhere (thank you!!!). Our first venue canceled on us 4 months from the wedding date, and they pivoted quickly and signed on for our new date and venue. They learned two new songs to play alongside two vocalist performances during our ceremony, and jammed out during cocktail hour before becoming our emcees and DJs for the reception. They even made it work when we had a last-minute rain plan go into action. My guests will not stop talking about how great the music was throughout the whole event. Our wedding DJ was Sean Markland and he was just phenomenal to work with. Prior to our wedding we had a lengthy call with Sean; my husband and I were very picky with our wedding playlist and had a rule of absolutely no traditional wedding reception songs or line-dances. We love electronic dance music (EDM) and wanted our wedding to be "festival/show vibes". We pretty much curated our own playlist of EDM, country, hip-hop, folk and I really wasn't sure how our guests would respond (and we really didn't care because it was our wedding), but the way Sean mixed and transitioned the songs and hyped up the dance floor kept the vibes going all night! We used Summit Events for our up lighting too - highly recommend as it was a great way to turn the room from a classy dinner reception to a dance party in one click! The sound quality was great for both speeches and music; we wanted to make sure guests could hear speeches clearly and we had no issues at all even though it was a large room. I also appreciated the Vibo app that we used to plan out our ceremony, entrances, first dances and our playlist for the night - it was a great tool that kept songs and notes in one place. They dressed appropriately for our wedding theme and many of the guests at the Hawthorne Hotel wanted to take pictures with Karlea in her Twenties attire. We kicked off a video call with co-owner, Matt, who spent time getting to know us personally, broke down their services, how everything works and answered all of our questions. We truly felt like we were in good hands. Our biggest priority for our wedding was the DJ. We love dancing and listening to music and we wanted someone who would keep everyone on the dance floor. DJ Jeff was referred to us by a family friend who raved about him! And he did not disappoint! About a month out from the wedding we hopped on a video call with Jeff to go over our vision of the day, songs we would like to be played and he also took the time to know us as a couple. DJ Jeff exceeded all expectations! He played one hit after another and made it extremely hard to leave the dance floor. Get yourself a DJ that gives your bridal hairstylist anxiety with how your hair turned out by the end of the reception. All of our guests were shouting for an encore by the end of the night.
