It was very early on in our 12 months of planning, that we knew we needed to have a coordinator. My wife is very Type A. And I knew we needed to find somebody who could also match that level of detail and structure. Connie exceeded our expectations. We had many meetings during the year of planning, even some where she was sick and still willing to get on a call with us. She always came to every meeting prepared and ready to go over every little detail. It provided myself and my wife a lot of ease because we knew that Connie had it. Everything was laid out in a document very easy for us to reference. Every inspo picture, every color choice, every vendor, and every moment in the timeline all laid out very easy to see. During the planning phase, she was fantastic! Then the day of our wedding arrived. A day that has a tendency to be filled with some stress and anxiety before the wedding even starts, but me, I had none. I was marrying my best friend, and I knew that the wedding was going to go perfectly smooth because Connie was there. She took care of setting everything up, communicating with vendors, having drinks ready for us as soon as we entered the reception, and even going as far as making our plates of food. Before the event started, she came up to me and immediately asked if I needed anything, asked how I was feeling, and told me if there was anything I needed to let her know. She also told me, that we were her third event of the weekend, and she hadn’t slept from the event the night before, because they had to get in the car and drive a few hours to us. But you couldn’t even tell. Her dedication, her commitment to the couple, and the attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. She helped deliver what is now one of the most magical days in both of our lives. If you’re looking for anybody to help out with your wedding, to make your day even more special and to hopefully take some stress off of you, I cannot recommend enough beautiful Crazy, specifically Connie!”

She was truly the best decision that we made in the wedding planning. If you don't read any further than this, just know that you need to hire her for your wedding. In our early planning phases, we thought we could do it alone. But we quickly became stressed and overwhelmed with so many options and open questions. We interviewed Jaylynn and immediately fell in love with her warm and positive energy. It was an easy decision. Within a few months of working with Jaylynn, we found all of our amazing vendors. Our DJ, photo booth, hairstylist and baker came from Jaylynn. On our own, it would have taken months to find. With Jaylynn, it was a breeze. We had an issue with a hairstylist, and she was able to talk to them and help us get a refund in less than 12 hours. The wedding day was perfect. Her team decorated the venue with so much eye for detail. She also designed our wedding website, signage, and much of our decor, and it was exactly what we wanted. The wedding day was perfectly smooth, despite the snow. It was such a joyful, perfect day. Many of my friends and family remarked on how incredible Jaylynn and her team were. “Working with the Oso team was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We actually hired them about 2 years in advance, so we got to work with them for a super long time! One of the biggest reasons that we wanted to hire Oso specifically was because of their decor inventory, which was 100% available to use at no additional cost with their full wedding planning package. Weddings can be extremely wasteful in terms of decor, so it was nice to be able to consciously be a bit more sustainable! We honestly ended up hiring Oso for so many other services as well — Michelle did an amazing job with our signage, they also have a great photobooth package, and Michelle’s sister owns Bobaholics so we were able to get a discounted rate for a boba bar! It really felt like a one-stop shop :) Michelle, Gen, Raymundo, and Gennie were all so helpful in coordinating with vendors and giving us wedding advice/guidance - working with them also gave us confidence that we weren’t missing any important steps or details of wedding planning. They were also available by text/email anytime, and they always responded extremely quickly, which I so appreciated! Talking to them felt more like talking to friends who were super passionate about wedding planning! On the actual day of the wedding, my husband and I felt so stress-free because of Oso - they seamlessly guided everyone to stay on schedule, had walkie talkies to communicate with each other, and constantly asked us if we needed any food/water/etc. They took care of passing out our vendor tips, and set up all of our decor with time to spare! “We booked for both florals and planning. We could not be more grateful to Angel for her unbelievable help. When beginning to plan our wedding, we had some vague ideas of what we liked, but were not completely sure. Despite only advertising as a 3 month planner, Angel helped us from the day we booked with her (a little under a year and a half before our wedding). She recommended amazing vendors, let us run ideas and questions by her at any time, and helped us craft the most beautiful day. We intentionally decided that florals would be lower on our list of priorities and expenses. Angel also does florals through Greenhouse Events, and she showed us beautiful photos and had the most reasonable prices of any florist we had met. I had a few requests for florals: namely, I wanted a few peonies for my bouquet in November, and gave a few other types of flowers I'd love to see. Peonies are not in season in November in North America, so I knew it might be difficult. Flash forward to our wedding: Angel had everything so detailed and organized, and everything moved so seamlessly. She absolutely blew us away with her decor and florals. It probably looked like a wedding that would have spent triple what we actually did on florals based on the STUNNING flowers. When I asked for a few peonies, she delivered literal buckets of peonies. Everyone was talking to us about how stunning the decor was, and we couldn't agree more. Angel really picked up on what we did and didn't like, helped us identify the most important parts of the day, and made sure we felt special and taken care of with little things we wouldn't think of already planned for in advance. She also kept everything running smoothly but in a relaxed way that was not pushy or frustrating for guests, and kept us on schedule while allowing for extra time for things as they came up. We could not recommend Angel any more highly. She is truly a lifesaver and made our day unbelievably special and perfect.”

“TL;DR: If you're questioning a wedding planner. You found your person in Shelby. She will be your teammate and advocate. Let me start by saying 5 stars is not enough for Shelby. What she was able to do over the course of a few months and the day of our wedding, and even after, is no short than a miracle. My aunt said it best, "She was just meant to do this job", and it shines through every conversation, detail, and edge she was able to walk me back from. I contacted Shelby originally for a month of coordinator. Soon after, I realized even for a type A project manager, I was in over my head planning an Alabama wedding from Philadelphia, PA. She walked me through everything and that's when I said I need her on my team and I need her skills now for everything between today and the wedding day. This was especially helpful during our venue and vendor selection process. She helped us find that blew our socks off, and also found us the most wonderful florist (@thelocalpetaler) who was able to provide us way more bang for our buck than any florist we’d be able to find on our own - a huge advantage. While we had our venue already picked out, Blair was able to recommend a food and beverage package with an available catering company that fell delivered us fantastic food and a premium beverage package that fit our budget.   Leading up to the wedding, Blair was also a master in helping us coordinate our wedding day planning including family photos, transportation e.g. coordinating our bus between multiple hotels and the venue while making it easy for us to just focus on ourselves. The peace of mind that Blair brought us throughout the planning process, week of, and day of our wedding made having our wedding a cakewalk rather than a headache. Spending the money to hire Blair was the best decision we could’ve made for our wedding!”

How much does a wedding planner cost?

On average, a full-service wedding planner can cost between $3,000 and $10,000. It depends on where you live and where you’re getting married. Planners in areas with high costs of living, like New York City and San Francisco, may charge upwards of $20,000. If you’re having a destination wedding, consider using a planner local to the area—you’ll avoid paying extra for travel, accommodations, and meals. Day-of coordinators cost less. They may have a flat fee between $1,000 and $5,000, or charge hourly. Always ask about pricing up front so nothing comes as a surprise later.

What do wedding planners do?

  Think of wedding planners as jack-of-all-trades experts when it comes to weddings. Many offer different levels of service to meet your needs. If you just want
  day-of coordination, for example, your planner will be there to make sure your ceremony and reception go off without a hitch. This may mean setting up vendors or directing your wedding party and guests to make sure everyone is where they need to be at the right time. Should we get a wedding planner?

Planners are great resources and can make planning your wedding much less stressful. If you’ve got the budget, a wedding planner is well worth the investment. Planners offer different service levels at varying price points. Choose the amount of help and cost that makes the most sense for you. At the bare minimum, you need someone (hired or delegated) to help manage the event day-of so you will be able to enjoy yourselves without worrying about too many logistics. If you decide to enlist a friend or family member to take on this role, keep in mind that this person will need to prioritize your needs over their own, and will no longer be attending or enjoying the wedding simply as a guest.
