She was very easy to talk to and asked a bunch of questions to fully understand our vision. She drafted us a proposal with general inspiration pictures, the colors we chose, pictures of the flowers we could expect, and next to each line item there was a picture of something that would be very similar to what we could expect on the day of. It was really nice to see it all laid out and know exactly what we were paying for. On the day of, everything turned out better than I could’ve even imagined. “The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!”

This is a unique skill that you'll cherish from your vendors! On top of being an absolute pleasure to work with, she and her team are true artists. I ambitiously asked for live moss to be installed on columns in the reception space and she delivered. All of my guests were floored. I can't think about it without wanting to cry! Moss aside, Anika and her team push boundaries across everything they do. From the bouquet and boutonniere, to the ceremony arch, it's clear that she has a distinct understanding of structure and design. The table scapes were also visionary, designed from moss platforms with anthuriums, garlic, and beech mushrooms–the latter coming as a complete surprise. She listened to our budget concerns, suggested reasonable and beautiful alternatives when necessary, and delivered unbelievable work. Can't recommend Marigolds Florals enough. My florist friend shared Jackie's contact information with me and I contacted her to see if she had the capacity for a last-minute bouquet preservation. Luckily, she had availability and a few hours later, I was taking an impromptu day trip to Cold Spring with my husband. Jackie met us at the station and was so incredibly kind. She gave us a few suggestions of eateries to check out while we were in town. We had a symbolic ceremony a week later and I was so pleased with the service received with my first bouquet, that I asked Jackie to preserve that bouquet as well. Throughout both bouquet preservations, Jackie was very responsive and answered any questions I had. She shared a layout of both bouquets prior to framing and packaged up both frames nicely, with bags, (this is a big deal when you're taking the train) when we returned to Cold Spring for pickup. Cara was very responsive in emails and texts, we couldn’t have asked for better. I was in complete awe walking into our reception, the flowers were absolutely beautiful just as I knew they would be. South Stems arrived on time for setup and breakdown and delivered my bouquet and boutonnière to our hotel where we were getting ready. My love for floral design began inside the horticulture classroom at my high school. That classroom played a pivotal role in allowing me to be creative in ways that I never had been before. When I left for college, My goal was to study business in order to operate my own Floral Business but I quickly lost track of that dream. The pandemic served as a wake up call for me just like it did for so many others. Allowing me to rediscover my love for flowers and all things beautiful.
