Celebrate your journey in the vibrant Navy Yard at DC's premier New England-style fish house. The Salt Line brings the casual charm of the Northeast to the Anacostia Riverfront, making it the perfect spot for your rehearsal dinner, bridal brunch, or welcome party. Our unique space offers a seamless indoor/outdoor experience with a cedar-shingled private dining room and covered patio, all boasting scenic river views. Treat your guests to an acclaimed raw bar, fresh seafood, and signature cocktails for a lively, memorable, and effortlessly cool waterfront celebration.
Our event spaces
The Essex
Guests enter the arched doorway into the Essex private dining room and are immediately transported to coastal New England!
With accented walls of weathered cedar shingles, a deep navy blue paint, and the main feature: a wooden Dory boat suspended from the vaulted ceiling. For larger events of up to 50 guests, the Essex and a portion of the Riverwalk can be combined by simply opening the French doors for a welcomed breeze. Curtains close the archway and dining room windows to offer additional privacy and soften the ambient noise.

The Riverwalk
Lined with rustic metal planters and weathered rope, the outdoor Riverwalk runs parallel to the Anacostia River for a scenic waterfront view
A portion of the Riverwalk incorporating our two farmhouse tables can be utilized as an extention to the Essex. The Riverwalk can also be resereved for smaller groups looking for a completely outdoor dining room. While not private, we can reserve tables grouped together towards the back of the dining space to create a partially private dining expereince.

Outdoor Bar
As guests first approach the restaurant, they are greeted by a large exterior bar that is nestled between Nationals Park and the Anacostia River
The bar itself is fully covered with a corrugated metal roof, allowing guests to enjoy the views even during spring showers. The large outdoor bar patio offers a variety of styles of seating whether it’s the high tops along the river or the cozy couches that offer a more relaxed seating area. Reserve either one of these spaces for your company happy hour, birthday celebration, or casual get-together! Tables can be reserved individually or grouped for larger party reservations.
