Nestled in the historic Old Cottage Grove (est. 1843), our hidden gem of a venue offers a picturesque setting for your special event. Our iconic white gothic arched roof dairy barn, built in 1947 by the Vandenberg family, sits on five acres of pastures and oak trees, overlooking a valley with stunning sunsets. The historic John P. Furber Farm, with its Italianate home, has a rich history dating back to the town's founding. Transformed into a gorgeous wedding venue in 2010, this unique space retains its historic charm while offering modern amenities.

As Minnesota’s largest barn venue, we can host up to 500 guests while still creating an intimate, cozy atmosphere for smaller events with personalized layouts to perfectly suit your big day.
And it’s Air Conditioned and Heated, so you can have the best possible experience! The Madison provides a worthy backdrop for your most cherished moments and milestones. We have become one of the most coveted wedding places in MN. We combine lush greens and scenic natural landscapes with magnificent gothic architecture to make a breathtaking backdrop for life’s magic moments. The Historic Gothic Arched Roof Dairy Barn boasts over 8,000 square feet, large enough to host your event for up to 500 of your guests. An additional 3,000 square foot addition with attached separate bride & grooms suite and very large men and women bathrooms! Located in a small rural community, and only minutes from the Twin Cities. It is surrounded by woods, pastures, farm fields and parks.

11/10 - Highly Recommend The Madison
11/10 RECOMMEND. We had the absolute best experience we could have imagined for our August wedding at the Madison. From the very start, our interactions with Brad and Louise felt so special and different. They wanted to know us as people, shared in our excitement and we felt completely taken care of from day one. Brad and Louise were always responsive, open to new ideas and helped us to curate the absolute best experience we could have imagined for our day. I truly cannot recommend this venue/these people enough. As for the venue, the natural and historic beauty of the space speaks for itself. We loved all of the natural wood and the historic feel of the barn while also enjoying upgraded spaces including the Bride and Groom suites. These spaces were full of natural light for photos, all of the amenities we needed and were such a perfect way to start out our day. I will always have precious memories inside of that bridal suite with my favorite people surrounding me. We chose to get married on the back patio which is an absolutely incredible space that we fell in love with immediately. The flowers and greenery outdoors were blooming and made for absolutely stunning photos without us adding additional florals. Brad & Louise’s meticulous care of the property was apparent at every turn from landscaping to décor and more. Brad even built a sweetheart table for two made from historic wood that we were able to use as our head table. Who does that?! They do. Brad and Louise were both present on the day of the wedding and helped to us to make sure everything went smoothly. August in MN can get hot and our day was no exception but the barn stayed plenty cool and was comfortable for our guests to enjoy dancing all night. We didn’t make use of the second story for dinner but we did set up a photo booth and second bar upstairs which allowed guests to step away from the busy dance floor and take in precious moments from above. I could go on and on about the day and the space and just how happy we were with how it all came together. If you are considering this venue—book it. You'll be glad you did.
The PERFECT Venue!!!!
My husband and I got married at the Madison in July 2025 and everything about our experience went above and beyond. The venue is GORGEOUS and both the barn itself and the grounds are kept up to perfection. We didn't need much decoration because the natural, classy beauty of the venue spoke for itself. The getting ready suites were also so nice and spacious and put me at ease the day of. Most importantly, the new owners are so incredible to work with. They were easy and quick communicators throughout the whole year leading up to the wedding. Once it got closer, we trusted Brad and Louise as our inside experts into the craziness that is the wedding industry. They patiently answered every question with honesty and kindness. They were extremely flexible (and organized!) and let us set things up early, and Brad even did some MCing as the host of the evening. His energy is contagious and made for the most fun, joy filled night! I 110% recommend the Madison to anyone and everyone with a wedding coming up!
Best Day Ever!!
Wish I could give this venue an even higher rating!! The owners, Brad and Louise Madison, are truly two of the most kind and genuine people you will ever meet. They are extremely easy to work with and will do anything to make your day go perfectly! Our wedding was last Friday and Brad and Louise made sure everything went smoothly and was stress-free. Plus the venue is absolutely gorgeous, which is a result of how much passion and hard work these two have put into it! If you are looking for a venue with owners that truly care about getting to know you and making your day special, then this is the place!

My son and his fiancée recently got married at this venue in Cottage Grove. It is a beautiful setting and lots of room inside and outside for the ceremony, dinner and dance. Brad and Louise are excellent hosts and went out of their way to make sure our day was exquisite!! Totally recommended for anyone looking for a venue that will make your memories come true!!!
