Penobscot Bay Weddings is a quintessential Coastal Maine tented venue in Winterport, Maine! •Access to the 7 acre waterfront property Thursday-Sunday. •Access to our 4,000 sq ft private residence on the day of your wedding (14' ceilings in getting read suite, stain glass windows, curved staircase, vintage furniture & more) •Ceremony on the water's edge with seating for 160 guests. •30'x40' Clear Top Tent for ceremony rain coverage •44'x103' Sailcloth tent for the reception. 44' x 103 ' Sailcloth Tent

Brand new party tent perched on the hill overlooking Penobscot Bay.

New for 2025, we will upgrade our current pole tent to a sailcloth tent, providing an even more luxurious look! Our tent is set upon a bluff, overlooking the water. Our tent sits upon a 3,200 sq foot gray floor, allowing for a clean, upscale look, and guest accessibility. We are the only wedding venue on the mouth of the Penobscot, and with 7 acres of waterfront property you will feel like the bay is all yours! This is one of the most beautiful views in the state of Maine, truly a hidden gem.

With clear walls around you can choose open air, or closed depending on weather. Our gorgeous globe lights fit all wedding styles and remove any setup and hassle. A small catering prep kitchen is set up behind for easy use; your vendors will love you! We have 200 amps of power and 3 guest bathrooms, so you can enjoy an outdoor wedding experience with ease and comfort.

Private Residence

This gorgeous private residence is the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready on the day of the ceremony.

Wedding parties have access to our property from 1:00pm Thursday to 1:00pm Sunday, but they only have access to the private residence on the day of the ceremony, from 8:00am until the start of the ceremony. This large residence offers separate space and bathrooms for both bridal parties to access. This large open-concept home, wrap-around porch, spiral staircase, laundry room, and breathtaking bridal suite are perfect for 10-25 people to get ready!

Large open-concept kitchen/dining/living room. Access to fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. Bright, screened and open wrap-around porch. Breathtaking bridal suite- room for 10 people to comfortably get ready, hair and makeup for all, fridge in the bathroom for mimosas. Amazing views from the bridal suite and balcony- watch all of your family and friends arriving! Gorgeous stain glass window lights up the room & perfect for photos. Downstairs study and map room perfect for groomsmen!

Waterfront Ceremony Peninsula

This waterfront spot was once a fishing village. With endless vistas, this is the ideal spot for a Maine waterfront wedding.

This large open space is perfect for a wedding ceremony and photos. Bridal parties can bring their own chairs, arbors and decorations. We have a boat house at the back of the space with couches and chairs. It is perfect for pre-ceremony gathering & later as a movie lounge for kids during the reception. With electricity hard wired from the boat house, DJs & officiants will have no issues with music and microphones. The path down the hill is nothing short of magical for a bridal procession.

    Ever since the first day we met Emerald and toured her beautiful property, we knew this was the place where we would say yes to forever. We began our venue search early, since we had a two-year engagement. It was so special to watch Emerald’s vision blossom into the stunning venue it is today. The amount of work, care, and dedication she poured into every detail of the design and the grounds truly shows, it’s the perfect outdoor costal wedding venue. Not only did we fall in love with the venue itself, but with Emerald too. Her kindness, warmth, and friendly personality are exactly what you hope for when choosing a wedding venue. She is truly what makes this place so special. Throughout the planning process, Emerald went above and beyond. She welcomed us back for drink tastings and even hosted an open house for couples getting married there in the future. Those thoughtful touches made everything feel even more personal and helped us feel right at home on our wedding day. Emerald doesn’t just make your wedding day special, she makes the entire planning experience unforgettable. Rain or shine, this venue is absolutely breathtaking. And on our wedding day, it certainly rained! Emerald told us it was the most rain she’d ever seen during a wedding, but she was completely prepared. She had a tent set up for the ceremony, umbrellas for the entire wedding party, covered spaces to keep us dry before walking down the aisle, and even a golf cart to shuttle guests so no one had to walk through the rain. What could have been a stressful situation felt effortless, all thanks to her preparation and calm presence. Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives, and we’ll always be grateful to Emerald and her family for making it so special. Penobscot Bay Estate will forever hold a piece of our hearts, we can’t wait to go back and stay in the cottages! Thank you, Emerald!

    I had my wedding here in June 2025 and PBE was the perfect wedding venue for us and Emerald is absolutely wonderful to work with. The property is stunning right on the water and makes a beautiful backdrop for pictures, ceremony, and reception. The ceremony is right on the water and the reception was in a brand new sailcloth tent with the water in the background. You have the whole property from Thursday to Sunday which makes it feel like a weekend getaway with your friends and family, especially with the cute and cozy cottages on the property that we used to house our bridal party for the weekend. Emerald makes wedding planning easy. She is incredibly responsive, accommodating, recommends vendors in all categories, and does everything possible to make your special day perfect. Emerald is so passionate about the venue and it so clearly shows. Emerald also added a speak easy this year which was the perfect addition that we used for Thursday night with our bridal party / family and used it for our afterparty the night of the wedding. We used the venue not only for the wedding/afterparty, but also for our rehearsal dinner the night before and brunch the day after. I cannot recommend Emerald and the venue enough.

    We knew we wanted Maine, we thought we wanted Portland, and one of us (it was me) didn’t read the map correctly. But it was fate. As soon as we pulled into the driveway we saw the guest cabins being built (one of our must haves) and we were greeted by Emerald who knew we had been traveling all day and asked if we’d like to sit on the porch and tell her our vision. She was the only venue owner who made us feel like she cared about our wedding not just the check. She has been our hype woman ever since and we left our tour knowing we’d get married here. The venue is gorgeous and allowed me to have the backyard wedding I always wanted, just in someone else’s backyard. Emerald gave us so much information about local vendors and advice on who we might work well with and may fit our vision. She was available for all my questions and truly made us feel special, like she didn’t have a full season of weddings. We can’t say enough great things about this place and the crew and we can’t wait to book the honeymoon cabin for our anniversary!

    I recently had the pleasure of having my wedding at Penobscott Bay Estate, and I can honestly say it was the most magical experience! From the moment we arrived, the beautiful scenery took our breath away. The views of the bay provided the perfect backdrop for our ceremony, making every photo look like a dream. The overnight cabins were an amazing addition to our experience. Each cabin was beautifully appointed and offered a cozy, charm that made our stay feel truly special. It was wonderful to have our closest people together, creating an intimate atmosphere that we will cherish forever. What truly set Penobscott Bay Estates apart were the amazing owners. Emerald went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our day was perfect.
