Q: What’s your cancellation policy?

if you cancel within 90 days of the event you will receive a 50% refund. Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. If you cancel your event within 60 days of your booked date, we’ll bill you the full amount of all estimated charges.

Q: Can we bring our own alcohol?

Yes, we charge a corkage fee of $10 per bottle for wine and liquor.

Q: Do you have on-site parking?

Very minimal on-site parking. There is a parking area down the road in which we offer a shuttle service as an option

Q: Do you have accessible facilities?

Not all areas of our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We have a wooded venue that has a natural and uneven ground that may be hard to maneuver in a wheelchair

About this venue

Built in the middle 1948 from timber on the property. This cabin is made from hand hued logs and hand mixed concrete for the foundation. In the early 60s Lyman Winfrey bought the cabin and moved his family from the city of Spirit Lake to the cabin. In 2008 the Winfrey family remodeled the cabin to add better heating, new flooring, and more. In 2020 the Winfrey’s made more updates to host the wedding of their daughter, updating the landscape and other amenities. We know you will fall in love with the quiet and calm ambience of the wooded property that has hosted some of our family's most special occasions and casual weekend retreats. With the Cabin just a 5 min walk to the lake down the street and gorgeous landscape for a beautiful outdoor event!

A beautiful day in Spirit Lake with full access to the cabin for 43 hours and use of all the utilities, unlimited access to our in-house wedding coordinator. Additional nights $350 per night if you would like to extend your stay. Enjoy this magical wedding in the woods!

Loved my wedding at Lyman's Cabin. We had so much extra time to decorate and relax compared to what other venues offered. The best part was all the candles that we got to line the little path way to the ceremony space, so romantic! We got married in the fall and I loved the vibe of the little town of Spirit Lake. This will always be our special place <3
