Will you edit all our pictures?

Accepted Answer

Short answer: YES! Every photo you receive from me will be fully edited by me (not outsourced) and delivered at full resolution. Nuanced answer: I do cull your photos before delivering them, so you don't see 100% of the images I take. The reason for this is that I overshoot to make sure I'm getting the best images possible of every single aspect of your day. There won't be photos missing, you just won't have to sort through duplicates and too many multiple angles of the same photo. Most wedding days get about 1000 unique photos. If you see me taking a photo of something, you will absolutely get that photo--I won't cull out photos you want.

Question 2

Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Depending on the size of your wedding, your vision, and your schedule, you might need 1, 2, or even 3 photographers and even an assistant. There is no one size fits all so I'll give you my best advice on how many photographers I think you'll need when we talk. You'll then get to review custom collections curated just for you with the right number of photographers for your unique day included.

Question 3

Do you also offer video services?

Nope. I only offer services that I am experienced and amazing at. While my cameras will absolutely shoot video, I am not a professional videographer and I don't pretend to be. I am happy to offer you recommendations for videographers I have worked with and love all over the country. Just ask.

Question 4

How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?

Accepted Answer

As soon as you have committed to your wedding date. Some couples book as far ahead as 2 years, some are more like 6 months. The only thing that matters is that I have your date available. Inquire ASAP even if you're looking at more than one date I can check my calendar for you. (The availability calendar on this and other sites isn't accurate, unfortunately)

Question 5

How long will it take to see our pictures?

Accepted Answer

I know you want to see them and share your photos right away, so you'll get a substantial amount of preview photos within the first week (Usually a few dozen--highlights from all parts of your day). If you need or want specific images to be part of this preview delivery, please ask. The turnaround time for the rest of your gallery is 8-12 weeks when I'm in busy season, and much sooner if I possibly can.

How many pictures will we get?

It depends entirely on your wedding day. I don't hold back any images or make you select a certain amount. I assume you'll want every photo possible, so everything that makes the final cut (see FAQ about editing for info on how I select these) ends up fully edited in your online gallery. If your wedding has a lot of locations and moments and a lot of guests, you'll naturally end up with more distinct moments that get photographed than a smaller wedding. That said, my typical delivery for a full day wedding is 700-1000 photos, and more with a second shooter or a multi-day event.

Do you have insurance?

YES OF COURSE. I carry a 2m business liability policy and I can issue your venue a COI with the venue listed on it if requested.

Question 8

What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

Accepted Answer

In my 13 years as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the unexpected event that something terrible happens and I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. OR if you'd prefer provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement. AND--if that doesn't work for you, I'll give you a full refund. Weddings are important and I take your day seriously. It's also worth noting that as a destination photographer, I don't take chances with travel. I'll be at least a day early.

Where do you shoot?

I photograph weddings all over the country--in fact I'm aiming to photograph a wedding in every state and I'm currently at 26/50. Domestic travel is typically included in your packages. When I'm not on the road, I reside in Katy, TX. I moved here from Denver, CO where I lived and photographed weddings all over Colorado for 9 years. My hometown is Tulsa, OK, and I plan to move back there in a few years. I consider these three places my "home" locations because I spend lots of time there and have extensive knowledge of local venues and photoshoot locations. I am available for your wedding anywhere in the world. Please inquire.
