Hi, I’m Sarah! The owner of Smainsbeauty. I am a licensed cosmetologist and makeup artist. I specialize in bridal hair and makeup. I offer a variety of add on services, such as extensions. I will travel just about anywhere to make your day special.

I am known for more natural makeup, although I do love a good glam! I offer 1-on-1 services to help break down and plan every moment of the “getting ready” portion of your special day. I also offer handmade guides to share with everyone receiving services, to help things run smoothly. I always offer extra time to be able to provide touch ups. I have simple, transparent pricing, I am prompt with timing, and I am a very calm individual. I have been in the bridal industry for just about 10 years, and have lots of experience with different lighting and photographers. I have worked Bridal NY Fashion Week, twice!

I will travel all over New England, or to a destination wedding! Travel fee included in contract. Destination Wedding travel on a case to case basis.

Depending on the amount of services requested, and the timeline that we have, I will work alone or bring 1+ members of my trusted team with me! This is free, there is no additional charge for extra help.

I lean towards a more natural look for my “signature style” however, I am capable of a full glam as well!

I schedule 45 minutes to 1 hour per service. This will range depending on timeline, clean up time, complexity of look, or thickness of hair.

While I do not typically offer myself to be available all evening for touch ups, I do offer touch-up kits with every makeup service.

Walking into the morning of your wedding day can be nerve wracking and very emotional. Everyone is running around getting ready; people are getting their hair and make up done others are steaming all our dresses. It can be very stressful. BUT with all the craziness going on around me the moment I sat in Sarah’s chair I felt calm and everything fell into place. She made sure that her and I had our own space that no one could interrupt. Anything I needed she made sure to tell someone to get it for me. I told Sarah I wanted my makeup to be very natural and light and she delivered tenfold. I didn’t feel like my face was caked with makeup all night, the foundation didn’t make my face feel heavy. I truly couldn’t have looked more beautiful. Unfortunately the morning of my wedding was very humid so that meant I was most likely going to change my hair style. Sarah and myself both planned for my hair to be down during our trial run, but Mother Nature had other plans. The moment I saw Sarah that morning she looked at me and went updo? I laughed and confirmed because she already knew what I was thinking before I said it. Instead of being annoyed or panicked I changed my hair style the last moment; she smiled and hugged me and insured me I would look beautiful no matter what my hair style was and everything would be okay. Sure enough everything was perfect (yes it really was perfect). I fell in love with my updo instantly! The amount of compliments I got on my hair and makeup the night of my wedding and weeks after says it all; to how phenomenal of an artist Sarah Mains truly is. If you are looking for someone who is relatable, reliable, and who’s AMAZING at hair and make up for your wedding look no further. I highly recommend Sarah Mains for hair and makeup for your special day, you won’t regret it!

Sarah from Smainsbeauty was an absolute delight to work with for my wedding! The communication was quick and easy, and she was always available to answer any questions. We did a trial ahead of time so we could work out exactly what I was looking for. Sarah's work was incredible - the pricing was very fair and she made me feel and look my absolute best on the big day. Sarah is so easy to work with, ensuring my wedding day wasn't stressful at all - she was just there hyping me up and turning me into the most beautiful bride!

I had such a wonderful experience working with Smainsbeauty for my wedding! From start to finish, she was incredibly professional, responsive, and easy to work with. She took the time to do a full trial beforehand, listened to what I wanted, and helped me land on a look that felt both natural and special for the big day. On the wedding morning, she arrived right on time, created a calm and fun atmosphere, and made me feel absolutely beautiful. My makeup lasted the entire day—and through plenty of happy tears!—without needing much at all. She even sent me off with a thoughtful goody bag of touch-up products, which was such a sweet and helpful extra touch. I would highly recommend her to any bride looking for someone talented, reliable, and truly invested in making you look and feel your best. She was a dream to work with!

Where do I begin? I contacted Sarah a couple months prior to my wedding and she was so enthusiastic to help! I’ve known Sarah since high school and have seen her grow as a hairstylist/make up artist through social media so I really did trust that she would make me shine for my big day. From getting my hair colored prior to the wedding, to the hair and make up trial and me leaving feeling like an absolute princess, I was ready for my wedding to come. Sarah made me feel so welcome in her studio and answered any and all of my questions no matter how dumb they seemed. Wedding day came and went in a flash, she was on time (early), she battled my toddlers getting into her things when she first entered and she made me feel like I was her priority, like nothing else mattered except my hair and make up on my special day. She nailed the inspo pics of both hair style and make up, she gave me extra tips and tricks to keep things in check for when it came time for pictures, and having her there even just as an old friend put the nerves at ease. If you’re looking for someone to do an incredible job on both hair and make up, make you laugh, and make you feel like nothing else and no one else matters aside from you looking gorgeous on your special day, choose Sarah.
