Upohar is known for personalized multicultural menus featuring traditional dishes from around the world. We can accommodate a wide range of dietary needs, including vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, halal, and more. Dessert options range from traditional wedding cakes, to vegan and gluten-free cupcakes, to specialty ethnic sweets. Our customizable service packages are designed to fit a wide range of service needs and budgets. To create a seamless experience, we can provide bartenders, linen, china, and event coordinators.

Upohar means gift. We offer our clients the gift of authentic ethnic food prepared by chefs specializing in their culinary traditions. We provide the gift of business opportunity to our vendor partners, who are local micro businesses owned by women, minorities or immigrants. Owner and founder Srirupa is passionate about the art of cooking and has traveled to various places around the world to learn more about their local cuisine. She and her diverse team will work closely with you during your planning process to ensure that you enjoy your reception, and your guests rave about the food for years to come!

Katrina had a clear vision for her reception: Spanish, Boho and Romantic. She wanted to serve food from Mexico, Puerto Rico and the US. So we curated a flavor-packed menu for her, which was served on white and gold place-settings with blue glassware.

Upohar was an absolute pleasure to work with! From the very first conversation, their team was incredibly communicative, friendly, and responsive. They worked with us to customize the menu and everything was delicious. On the day of, the serving staff were so kind and attentive, even our guests commented on this. And the food itself was truly outstanding - fresh, flavorful, and great balance of spices. Compared to some of the other caterers we had tasted, Upohar's dishes really stood out. Our guests loved the food and we appreciated being able to incorporate our own global influences into the menu. We had a wonderful full experience with Upohar and would highly recommend them to any couple in need of an exceptional caterer for their wedding day.

If you would like a more eclectic, adventurous offering for your wedding or major event, I could not recommend Upohar enough. Months removed from my wedding, my guests are still raving about the food being the best that they've ever had at such an event. The entire team made the process incredibly easy and seamless. I was able to bring a lifelong memory to fruition through two meetings, one in-person and one virtual, along with some emails back and forth to nail down menu, drink and service logistics. Throughout this entire process, the team was responsive, transparent, helpful and incredibly well-skilled at what they do. We had a decent amount of food left over after the event, and about five or six households came to ours on the day after the wedding with all of their food storage to stock up for the week- that's how good it was. We are so incredibly thankful for Upohar for being a cornerstone of the most important day of our lives, and I will always cherish what they were able to provide for us.

Upohar and their team made wedding planning so much easier for us. We were looking for an entirely gluten-free food vendor, and they walked us through everything — from picking the menu to doing multiple tastings so we felt confident in our choices. They were honestly the easiest vendor we worked with during the whole process. We went with Mexican food with an American twist, and it turned out incredible. Our guests were raving about the food all night, and even after the wedding people kept telling us how good it was. Some guests took leftovers home and said things like the ribs and sweet candied yams somehow tasted even better the next day. Thank you so much to the Upohar team for helping make our day so special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Yes, our minimum order amount is $2,000 for all weddings and events, and that would be for our drop-off package. We do not have a guest count minimum. Full service weddings usually start around $65 per person and go up from there depending on menu choices and other add-ons like desserts, bartending, linens, and more.

Yes, we offer tastings for up to four people. The fee is $75 per person. If you book with us beforehand, the tasting has no charge, or if you book AT the tasting, you pay the booking deposit instead of the tasting fee.

We can provide and customize fully vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal menus. We can also accommodate other needs like onion/garlic-free and nut-free. We recommend a menu consultation to discuss your individual needs.

Yes, cake-cutting and plating service is included in our full-service package.

We are full service. We can discuss available rentals and work with you to find options within your budget.
